Okay so i've been sitting in listening to a friend rap. He's actually kinda tight. He's from here, Grand Rapids, MI, you know, that midwest swing or whatever, but he sounds like he comes from New York. He's that good of a rapper. Punchline ARTIST! As soon as he put his music up on myspace i'm gon post that for y'all. Hopefully I can get an "interview" with HIM! lol... but nah real talk. dude is tight. He rapped to Trey Songz' Brand New [that beat BANGS if you didn't know] and Ii love it. He rapped to Birdwalk by Soulja Boy too... those are my favorite two by him so far, I'm not gon reveal no name tho...

The Uber Artist!

Okay sooooo, guess you know I'm all about my bro MarQ Beyond, right?! HA! Sooo I think its about time for an interview!!!

Tatijana Felise: I've known you for years, and remember you switchin' your name up more than Diddy did, lol, can you list those names and what made you choose them?

MarQ Beyond: The first moniker I ever used and took seriously, was Young Q the kid I was 13 and following trends so thats how that came about.. For a short time after I grew lyrically I went by Q Beast, which no one even knows about. Then thats when I started going by Avenue, because where I was mentally at 16-17 I felt I was the voice for the people who didnt have one, and I dubbed myself the voice of the streets..

Tatijana Felise: ...And what about MarQ Beyond?

MarQ Beyond: MarQ Beyond came about after I went on hiatus from music. I had been countless battles, and had performed in different venues, but nothing was moving as quickly as I wanted it to. And after about a 6-7 month leave, I decided it was time for me to just come back with a vengeance, but this time I want to speak for myself. Marq is the first half of my middle name, and I was named after my cousin Marquis, who died in 03', and I have a capital Q in my first name, so I wanted to [pay] my respect to him in my way and so MarQ...
Beyond just came from my way of looking at things, and my perception of life and music in general, to just go beyond the norm.

Tatijana Felise: Okay, so you said that you wanted to speak for yourself, and that Beyond meant you had to go beyond the norm, are you saying you weren't being yourself before? And what is "beyond" the norm in music?

MarQ Beyond: When I performed under the moniker Avenue throughout highschool, I thought of myself as a spokesperson for the streets, but that was me more so following trends more than anything. My subject matter was basically just like any other person's you see in a video.. So for me to reinvent myself as an artist, I had to reinvent myself as a person.. Instead of being the person that follows trends, I'll be the person that starts them...

Tatijana Felise: I feel you. Soooo, you're a loser, right?

MarQ Beyond: Yea. I just pretended that I wasn't, but now its a side of me that's embraced whole heartedly.

Tatijana Felise: Well, welcome to the club!

MarQ Beyond: Haha, thats greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Tatijana Felise: Ha, now back to the music... I'm pretty sure you dip into every genre of music, but which would you say is your favorite and how does it affect your own music?

MarQ Beyond: Rock N Roll. There's so much emotion behind every song, no matter what the subject is.

Tatijana Felise: That being said, is there any specific Rock artist or band that you would like to work with when you're signed?

MarQ Beyond: Wow, I would love the opportunity to work with Linkin Park, Incubus, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nickelback, Coldplay, The Fray.....the list goes on and on.

Tatijana Felise: I like Nickelback. So what can we expect from you in the near future, other than a high stream of Lasers downloads? [http://www.zshare.net/audio/583744606c1fe8d5/]

MarQ Beyond: You can definitely expect the Past, Present, Infinity mixtape, and I've been working on an unofficial album called "The Uber".

Tatijana Felise: Okay, okay! That's definitely what's prime! So how can your fans reach you if they want to chat or just show some love?

MarQ Beyond: Fans can email me directly with questions at marqbeyond@gmail, they can follow me at twitter.com/MarQBeyond and they hit me up or get any updates on me on my blog marqbeyond.blogspot.com or almosteclectic.blogspot.com [that's me! not MarQ by the way! the almosteclectic link]

Tatijana Felise: Anything else you want to say?

MarQ Beyond: Umm.....I'm dope. hahaha.

Tatijana Felise: Haha, well until next time! Hopefully, we can get a photoshoot in for your next interview!

MarQ Beyond: Definitely.

First Post

Hey!

So, I was thinking about it today, and I'm pretty eclectic. I have my own style, so I listen to a few different types of music, and they usually fit my personality. I can listen to some pop, some rock, gospel, etc etc, but my favorite music is R&B of course. I love N*E*R*Ds style as well, The Cool Kids, Lil Wayne... See, I listen to everything because those are three different types of music right there just by the names. I listen to Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Grand Rapids' own Marvin Sapp, Drake, The SEVENth, Joose, Marq Beyond, Papoose, SWAG Ent, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Shai, Soul4Real, Sammie, Chris Brown, T.I., Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick, BBD... I listen to pretty much anything influenced by the hip hop culture, influenced by the basics of hip hop, influenced by rhythm and blues, influenced by anything hot in general...

That being said, I'll probably post stuff about the music I'm feeling at the moment when I feel like blogging.I know that I'll most definitely be posting about some of those that I know that are pursuing music, so look out for that...

Suggestions? gon head n leave a comment...
